The Portico Lofts building was originally built in 1930 as a plumbing showroom/warehouse and converted to a 28 unit loft building in 1998 by NHP Architects.  Some units include original wood trusses, truss corbels, and wooden-vaulted ceilings. Portobello was built in 1974. It was the first housing complex in Jack London Square on approximately 10 acres.
